The Countdown is ON! (and so is the Pressure...)

Quick! Run to your computer and type the word CRAZY in the search box. LOOK: There's my picture with a definition next to it:

Design Gal on the Go who is losing her mind trying to pull together her Virtual Golf Room without pulling all of her hair out in the process!

Yes folks, I've never ever claimed to be calm, cool and collected (well, I digress...maybe cool) but these days it's a miracle I am not locked up in a loony bin with visions of simulators dancing through my head. You wanna walk in my stilettos? Here's a look at next week:

Okay, first of all, there was the "PhotoViolet" carpet caper. My friends at Feizy Rugs created this GORGEOUS deep bourdeaux wool carpet for the room, and of course I'm thinking, EASY, just install the carpet and put the simulator in after. But NOOOOOOO, it's not that easy. Seems that the carpet is not PhotoViolet, meaning that the lasers will not read the ball when it's hit into the screen. So, now I have to inlay the carpet with some "faux grass" carpet in my putting zone, to the EXACT SPECIFICATIONS of the screen, which is not here.

Then I find out that the carpet needs to be laid at the SAME TIME the simulator is installed, because the carpet has to TOUCH the screen for putting mode. So, no doing things in advance. All must be done on the same day. Easy, right....?

Well, I get a call today that the simulator is arriving next week and being installed next week, but I haven't quite gotten around to appliquing the exotic wood tree silhouettes to the walls which must be done before the carpet which must be done at the same time as the simulator and WHEW!!! I am quickly losing my mind over how in the world I am going to pull all of this off in three days. Anybody wanna come and help me cut out 18 wood veneer tree silhouettes, hand rub them with beeswax and apply them to the walls all before the simulator goes in? Raise your hand because I'm definitely drowning here!

The good news is that no matter how much stress you're under, everything eventually gets done. What is making me sooooooo very happy today is the fact that I got my Washington SPACES magazine in the mail today, and lo and behold there is our precious CharityWorks Green House right there on the front cover! Isn't it Bee-YOO-TEE-ful? I am so excited, and even more excited to give y'all the VERY FIRST GLIMPSE of what you'll see when our doors open in October. Check out the link to get your scoop first hand...the issue isn't even on the news stands yet so definitely give it a look.

Check out www.washingtonspaces.com for the entire article! It's amazing!

In the meantime, I'm gonna keep working my mojo, and wait to hear from Matt Lauer and the producers at The Today Show...I just sent them a ton of info on The Green House so keep your fingers crossed for me. I'll also keep you posted on a HUGE General Motors press conference that's happening at the Green House on September 22nd...Get ready to see our name in LIGHTS at this huge event. As usual, I'll keep you in the know, so stay tuned and please spread the word about the Green House! It is one Rocking Project that will help us ALL help our lovely little earth.

xoxo,

Lynni
